cow-punching leads to lack of sense of humour

Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry threatened legal action Monday against a British comedian who wins laughs by portraying the central Asian state as a country populated by drunks who enjoy cow-punching as a sport.

What specifically peeved the officials was Cohen's gig hosting the 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards as Borat earlier this month in Lisbon. Appearing in the guise of the well meaning foreign correspondent with an avid curiosity of all things Western, Cohen arrived at the show on an Air Kazakh propeller plane controlled by a one-eyed pilot holding a vodka bottle.

Following Madonna's show-opening number, the mustachioed faux newsman said: "That singer before me. Who was it? It was very courageous of MTV to start the show with a genuine transvestite. He was very convincing. It was only his hands and his testisatchels that gave it away." And he signed off by saying: "To the world, I love you! Apart from Uzbekistan. A--holes."

Are you a fan of Cohen's? Other than crap market research telling him he needed more dick and fart jokes for his Ali G movie... The guy is really, really, really quick witted.

He works best when people don't realise who he is. His recent series from the USA had some moments of sheer comedy gold in it.

I found his interview with Victoria and David Beckham quite funny, and they knew what they were in for. He still did really well at thinking on the go, and came out with some classic lines in response to them.

There were times I was *crying* laughing while watching the dvd.
