The initial version was apparently utter utter shite, and they dumped it almost completely and remade it. I've only seen the first 2 episodes, but I'm liking it. [edit] I mean the initial version of the US remake, not the UK version.

I don't think it's better, but it's still suprisingly ok. Particularly given the history of american remakes...

Nuh. No-one beats Glenister. He'd punt Keitel across the room and then sit down for a tea and garibaldi.

He plays the character very differently. Keitel's version is (imho) a lot more of a scary thug.
