quick note about the senate
Nov. 5th, 2007 02:09 pmI'm going to look into it more when I get a chance, but just a quick note. Do not be fooled by the name Climate Change Coalition in the Senate. As far as I can tell they're another of those scummy preference-harvesting micro-parties. In NSW, they've preferenced almost every single unpleasant nutbar they can before the Greens and the ALP (who you think would be their natural allies). In Victoria, they're playing all sorts of stupid games with their preference ticket, as well as getting position #1 on the ballot paper.

AGL are clowns
Nov. 5th, 2007 05:10 pmSo I have to get gas at the new place in sydney through AGL. Go to their website, the contact form times out. They list both NSW and Vic numbers. Ring the NSW one (I'm in Melbourne). 20+ minutes on hold get to an operator. "Oh, you've rung the Victorian number" What the- no I haven't, your stupid system has routed me there. "I'll put you in the NSW queue". Oh good. More queueing.
Idjits. If you're going to have separate numbers and want to do magic redirects, prompt the user before making them queue! Gah.
Also, following up to the previous piece on the Climate Change Coalition. In Qld, they have Pauline Hanson ahead of the ALP.
Hanson's views on climate change are... not particularly well established. (link goes to her hilariously retro website, you have been warned)
