"As I see it in this campaign, we just finished the first half and the Lamont team is ahead. But in the second half our team, Team Connecticut, is going to surge forward to victory in November," Lieberman said. Then he shouted, "Will you join me?"
At 11 a.m. today, the statewide Democratic ticket is to gather with Lamont at party headquarters in Hartford in a show of unity and effectively answer, "No."
This is pretty big news. In the US, George Bush's favourite Democrat just got tossed out on his ear by his own voters in the primary (where the voters get to decide who the candidate will be). In the US, the almost _never_ _ever_ happens. Of course, being a Bush-loving neocon, Lieberman is refusing to admit defeat, and will be running as an independent - supposedly to somehow provide a "unifying" force. Right. OK. Whatever you say, loser.
