Amitai Sandy (29), graphic artist and publisher of Dimona Comix Publishing, from Tel-Aviv, Israel, has followed the unfolding of the “Muhammad cartoon-gate” events in amazement, until finally he came up with the right answer to all this insanity – and so he announced today the launch of a new anti-Semitic cartoons contest – this time drawn by Jews themselves!

“We’ll show the world we can do the best, sharpest, most offensive Jew hating cartoons ever published!” said Sandy “No Iranian will beat us on our home turf!”

The contest has been announced today on the www.boomka.org website, and the initiator accept submissions of cartoons, caricatures and short comic strips from people all over the world. The deadline is Sunday March 5, and the best works will be displayed in an Exhibition in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

That's a brilliant way to take the heat out of this idiotic situation. Seriously. Great work.

I know it's wrong to gloat. But I would like to invite Health Minister Tony Abbott to taste the tangy bitterness of defeat. I hope that's a flavour that will stay with you for some time, you no-talent fuck.

I did notice this, tho:

The vote was carried on the voices - with no official count taken because no one called for a division.

... gutless wonders.

another bit from the age

The gravesite of Bon Scott, the legendary lead singer of veteran rockers AC/DC, has become one of Australia's most treasured cultural icons.

More than 26 years after Scott's death, the National Trust of Australia has decreed his grave in Fremantle cemetery important enough to be included on the the list of classified heritage places.

The listing, traditionally reserved for heritage buildings and homes, confirms the cultural importance of the site, which is one of the most visited sites in Fremantle, attracting thousands of fans every year.

Kim Haynes, the National Trust's WA heritage officer, said Scott's place in the annals of Australian and international music meant his final resting place deserved recognition.

"Normally people associate heritage with buildings, and this was a way of recognising the social values of a place. Heritage is about what we value," Mr Haynes said.

"This is very much a modern day pilgrimage for many, many people, and (the grave) is the end of pilgrimage for many people around the world."

.... I love this country.

SENATOR HEFFERNAN (LIB): What this will do eventually euthanasia will be legalised in Australia - it's trendy, it's the way it'll go. And guess what will happen? There'll be a pill come up and it will go to the TGA, not to knock over babies, but to knock over people and we will sit there and say, "Well, that's a matter for the TGA, they're an independent body." I rest my case.

... er. what? Euthanasia is trendy? Why did no-one tell me this? Does that mean we can put mad old bastards who've outstayed their welcome to death?

Come on Bill, eat the fucking pill. All the cool kids are having one.

in response to Harry Whittington's minor heart attack after being shot in the face by the vice president, the daily show downgraded the humour alert level from "Incredibly Hilarious":
