world spinning is not fun
Apr. 14th, 2005 05:13 pmAs Kate will no doubt attest, I am one of the world's worst invalids. I hate being sick. However, on the scale of things I hate being sick with, the current one is a doozy. What started out as a fairly aggressive cold (chills, aches, sneezes) went away quite suddenly. I was happy, and impressed with my own immune system ("ha! you puny viruses are no match for my magnificent army of white blood cells! attack, my army! attack!")
It was only when I lay down to go to sleep that I realised the cunning little bastards had not been defeated after all, but had instead moved to my inner ear. Lying down == nausea == no sleep == need to lie down == ... It's safe to say that I'm something of a shivering wreck right now, with an overwhelming need to sleep, yet stay upright. It's like flying economy, which is to say, NOT FUN AT ALL. On the plus side, the food sucks less than economy, and there's much less chance of being forced to watch "Shark's Tale".
When it's time for my immune system's annual performance review, you can damn well bet that this will be noted down. Hmph.
