When I started posting to my other (technical) blog last week, one of the things I kept in mind was that I wasn't going to don the swearypants in that new venue, but keep it over here. I didn't expect my willpower to be tested quite so soon.

Yes, I failed in keeping all bad language out, but in my defense, I responded in the same tone as the piece to which I was replying...

I think that, given the subject matter and the behavior of others, your language stayed well within the realm of "unsurprising" even for a professional context.

Hi! *waves* ... saw you friended me. Glad to find this blog link... I've been feeding them to AK, who's been following this all in what seems like a kind of appalled state of repentance. I think the guy made a thoughtless mistake, but I don't think he'll make the same one again. And if we're lucky, someone will learn from it for next time.

Yeah - I think AK just goofed, we all have those moments of "damn. That really really needed my brain to stop me before I did that". Gods know I've done it often enough (I'm referring to brain-glitches, rather than putting up porn :-)

My annoyance was at people like PJE (who I've given up discussing this with, as he's so not worth my time) who seem to reflexively claim "oh, it's not so bad".
