The Daily Show shows how to handle politicians who don't want to do an interview. Video (12Mb, about 5mins).

In this case, the subject is the Republicans childish behaviour about a friendly softball league in Washington DC.

If you can't be bothered grabbing it, there's a writeup at the Huffington Post, including the awesome phone interview bit at the end:

"Would you say that your decision to storm out in the middle of an interview reflects a general dickishness amongst Republicans that's probably responsible for the fact that New Orleans is under water? And I will take a hang up to mean yes."
