PM warns of 'specific' terror threat

Prime Minister John Howard says the Federal Government has received specific intelligence about a potential terrorist threat in Australia.

At a press conference with Federal Attorney-General Philip Ruddock by his side, Mr Howard would not give further details, citing operational security reasons.

"The Government has received specific intelligence from police information this week, which gives cause for serious concern about a potential terrorist threat," Mr Howard said.

"I do not intend, and can not, go into any of the operational details. We have seen material, it is a cause for concern."

Mr Howard says the Senate will be recalled tomorrow to pass an amendment relating to the description of a terrorist act.

Colin suggested that there's an obviously lack of communists to just burn down Parliment House.

But I'm sure the diligent Leader of the Opposition will be right on the case, yes?

Mr Beazley says he is ready to recall Labor senators today to pass the legislative changes.

"I've made our senators ready to pass this Bill today," he said.

"If it has an extensive urgency, as indicated by the Prime Minister, it ought to be capable of being passed today and we stand ready to ensure that it goes through today."

Fuckwit. LEARN. You CANNOT TRUST THESE FUCKERS.

Oh look - horrible IR legislation that's going to fuck us all in the arse? Nono, terrorists! terrorists! terrorists! Terrorists with holiday pay, and overtime! Must defeat terrorists by removing all benefits from employment!
