So according to various news stories, the pope's body will be placed inside a cypress-wood coffin, which is placed in a zinc coffin, then an oak casket, then buried under a marble slab. This seems like a prudent approach - no-one wants a zombie pope getting out and lurching through the halls of the Vatican.
